After my examination, I was taken to a 'consultant' that told me I needed a porcelain crown on a back molar. I had read that this was inappropriate because of grinding pressure and knew of one person that had problems with a porcelain crown on a molar. I asked for another estimate using a standard metal crown and no radical hygiene procedures. She said she would get back to me. She never called. I transferred my insurance coverage to another dentist that informed me any crown would be inappropriate on that tooth and that there was no cavity beneath the filling. My experience at the Fellars practice with one of their 'consultants' was reminiscent of buying a car and talking to the loan officer. I am not sure but I felt she was on commission. The crown and all the other work the 'consultant' recommended came to $1500. The second dentist I went to praised me for my dental hygiene. I have had no problems for over a year now. I heard a fellow next to me at Fellars being told he could get a loan for his dental work. Scary. I would recommend avoiding this office as long as they have 'consultants'.
