Don’t waste your time. Been going here for years and for the past three it’s gone downhill completely. Nobody calls back EVER, you’ll wait 2-3 hours to be seen (no question) and the receptionists are the least caring individuals in a healthcare setting that I’ve ever witnessed. Tessa at the front desk should find another job. Tessa: You don’t speak to patients like that. ESPECIALLY hang up on them in mid sentence when they’ve been overcharged for the third time. If your “manager” can’t figure out how to do a refund within 3 weeks he’s got a problem and needs to be in the office for more than “ten minutes” as you stated. Megan: handle your staff better. You said yourself that you heard everything and watched her hang up on me. Good job. My guess is that it isn’t the first time she’s been rude to a patient today. You’re twice as much to blame as her. If it weren’t for Dr. Dillard I would’ve stopped coming there years ago due to the rude and inefficient staff. The whole place needs a training video. In the meantime I’ll be looking for a new PCP. I hope your clinic won’t take this review lightly. You just lost a 10 year patient (and their family) that would drive over an hour to see you. I’ll be sure to spread the word elsewhere.

I would seriously think twice about going to this place. Like always, i will just give you my experience... We purchased a Pomeranian about seven months ago, and his baby teeth did not fall out. We took him to this veterinary clinic to have them check on him because he was having much difficulty eating. We told them that he probably needs to have his baby teeth taken out. They pushed on his belly really, really hard, then squeezed his mouth, causing him a lot of pain. They then said we need to take the baby teeth out, like we originally stated. We also informed them that obviously he was not in really good health and had an infection, and it did not seem to concern him. They wanted us to bring him back the next morning for surgery.

My wife dropped him off at 8 AM, and they called us at 10 AM to tell us that he was ready to be picked up. We told them to hold him until 5 PM just in case there were any complications since they would be closed for the next couple of days for the weekend. They, then called us again before 11 AM, telling us that he was having issues and asking if they could give him an IV. Then, my wife went in at 3 PM to pick him up and check on things, and she was told he did not make it..... I called after 5 PM to figure out what was going on, and the story I got was completely different from the story my wife was told and had recorded on her phone.

My wife was told that they were going to give him an IV when they returned from lunch, but when they returned he was too far gone... So, basically, if I understand correctly, their lunch is more important than the health of the animals they are supposed to be taking care of.

The bottom line is, we took our dog to them, and they returned us a dead dog covered in fleas (which he never had fleas before)... You know, I'm not a surgeon, but even attempting to pull out all of a dog's teeth is pretty major. You take for granted that people actually know how to do their jobs, and sadly they don't know how, and nor do they care.

Terrible

Took my little dog there today. They charged me 250 dollars and sent her home. She died 3 hours later. Stay away!

I registered with Dr. Carlson, and it's b een a mistake. It's been puilling teeth just to get the same old meds I've been on for DECADES! "Oh, well, we didn't see it on the computer, so you are a liar." -Dr. Carlson (paraphrased). One day I had to see Dr. Dillard because he was out, and SHE IS AN AWESOME DOCTOR. She took time with me, didn't doubt everything I said, and got me the medications I needed for my infection and such. Every time I go in there to see Dr. Carlson, it's the nurse's know how. He literally LOOKS AT HER because it's like he's either too young or too incompetent to be the family doctor I need. Thinking of changing to Dr. Dillard. P.S. If you need anti-axiety drugs, forget about it. I told him about my agoraphobia, and he literally made fun of me. "LOL. You are afraid to leave your house? Then why are you here today?" Hello? Agoraphobia is not just fear of leaving your home.

We have been using the clinic since they opened in 1989. Dr. Boone knows her stuff, and has done an incredible job with our pets and even strays that we have brought in for medical attention. Most of the veterinarian rates seem to be closely aligned with others in the area, and I believe you get that for which you pay. We have had to have four or five animals put down due to old age or advanced disease, and you could not ask for a more caring staff. Would highly recommend and DO highly recommend them to friends and acquaintances. But as with all businesses, medical clinics, etc., everyone will have an opinion based on perhaps a bad day or a situation that has caused problems for the entire staff. But for us, Pointer Trail, the doctors and the staff have been great.

I adopted a kitten who had a very rough start to life, fleas, worms, mites, and feline leukemia. PTAC was very kind to me and my kitten. Dr Schluterman was compassionate and helped me nurse the kitten to health. On our return visit, she took the kitten and walked around showing her staff the big improvements Little Un had made. Couldn't ask for more caring people, and prices were very affordable. Keep up the good work y'all. You will always be my vet!

We paid four times the amount for dog shots as we would have at Hubbs, I know I called after (should have called before). Also, the tech told us that he needed all these shots including Parvo (sp?), but the other vet told us that it was only needed for puppies, since it is a puppy disease, so we are out a lot of money for no reason. The receptionist is terribly HATEFUL & seems very annoyed with any question and seems to hate the customers. Nothing like giving (wasted) money to a hateful person. The vet is friendly, but not worth paying almost 3 times the price & dealing with the staff.

Horrible

Awful office staff. When calling about the overcharging to my insurance company when I was supposed to be a cash customer, they were extremely rude and unrepentant. I would not recommend to anyone.

I adopted Shiloh from the Huma...

I adopted Shiloh from the Humane Society on New Years Eve. I was given a list of Vets I could take her to for a free Wellness checkup. I decided on Pointer Trail Animal Clinic because it was two minutes away from my house. As soon as I walked in I was greeted right about, everyone seemed so friendly and eager to help. Since it was my first time at this vet they gave me the paperwork to fill out but unlike most vets who make you fill it out standing at the front counter while getting tangled in your dogs leash because they want to leave, I was escorted to the exam room where they closed the door and my dog could relax and I could write legible. Dr. Schluterman was the vet we seen that day and she was very nice and answered all my questions like it was the first time. Shiloh ended up having a fever due to an untreated ear infection. Dr. Schluterman went over how to properly give the medications and then went over all the different types of Heartworm medications (unlike most Vets who only tell you about their most expensive one.) I received a bunch of pamphlets on Heartworm medications, Flea and Tick prevention and even a book from Purina with one coupon for dog food and another voucher for $25 credit to use at the vet (once completed and turned in.) I will definitely bring my other two dogs here from now on. Excellent Customer Service. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely awful

Very unprofessional. The nurse who saw me complained the entire time about wishing she was home, there are neon signs covering every inch of the walls with poorly written, passive aggressive notes: "do not touch my computer!" "do not let children run wild in my clinic!" "no food or drink in my clinic!"

It's obvious from the signs and the demeanor that it is a "my" attitude office, and patients are seen as bothers.

Also, I waited more than two hours after my appointment time, and witnessed everyone who went in before and after me wait a similar time. I will not be going back to this clinic.

Wonderful Vets!

After being taken for a ride by several vets in Fort Smith, my parents suggested that we try out their vet in Van Buren. So we loaded up our dogs and drove them to PTAC and we are glad we did. The staff and dr's were very friendly and helpful. They're prices have always been more than fair. Whenever we have had emergencies, they have always helped us out. Recently we had an emergency visit and ended up having to have our oldest dog of 14 years put to sleep. They were the most compassionate group of people we could have ever hoped for. They helped us with everything through her burial at the Humane Society Cemetery. We even recieved a sympathy card from them the following week. They still see our other 2 dogs and take great care of them. No complaints! A+++!
