CMS Group Insurance administers the group health, dental and life insurance benefit programs for state employees and retirees. It also manages the vision plans and spending programs. The group is a part of the Illinois Department of Central Management Services, the central procurement and administrative services agency for the state of Illinois. It offers various services that include managing the state's information technology and telecommunications systems and facilities. It also conducts internal audits for state agencies. It consists of various bureaus, including the Bureau of Administration Operations and Bureau of Benefits. Additionally, the department administers a fleet of more than 11,500 vehicles.
