Don't go there, it has changed they are not nice people anymore. I took my 2 dogs there for grooming as I have been doing for many years. This time was different though, they did not stay near as long as usual, no big deal but is to be noted. After they came back it took a day or 2 to find sores around the smaller dogs neck, he is smaller cause he is diabetic and has gone blind and lost weight he and his littermate brother are 10 years and 3 months. So I called Motif to ask if maybe he was reacting to the soap.

NO the woman who returned the call 2 days later said in a very insensitive manner, he was digging and digging at the muzzle I had to put on him, their toe nails were very long and they fought me, they were fighting so much they were FLOPPING ARROUND ON THE TABLE LIKE FISH. I cry to say those words. WHO would say such a thing and with muzzles on why were they not being held? I want my boys to talk so they can tell me what she did to them.

They will never go there again. Yes their nails were longer than they should be but then smack me, not be cruel to my poor dogs especially to one that is blind. OH I am so sad over this and only comment here to help people with dogs they love to be aware what may be happening when they leave their precious babies at this Salon.

I have never had any problems. Judy always has time for my three dogs. I drop them off in the morning and have them back by 3 the latest. Thanks Judy.

I have been bringing my dog to Motif every month for 8 years and have been very happy with the service and facilities. Judy, Sheri and the staff care for my dog like he was one of their own. They do a beautiful job grooming him and he gets to socialize and play with all the other dogs the rest of the day. I have also boarded him there many times, and I have no worries with the top-rate attention they give him. I will never take my dog anywhere else!

I have been bringing my dog to Motif pet day care for over six months. He still gets so excited every time we pull in the parking lot. He loves that he always has friends to run , play and take naps with. Judy, her family and staff are the most caring dog professionals you will find. You'll always have peace of mind when your dog is in their care.

I got referred to Motif for grooming of my collies, and I am so grateful to be so nearby to the shop. My dogs have been bathed and trimmed there- nails too, plus I have called Judy on a whim needing a place for my dogs to stay over a holiday- and she always has had room for me. I was so glad to leave my dogs with them, knowing they'd be cared for and loved on, and treated like the owners' own pets. Boarding was even less expensive than I expected- they have really fair prices all around. It's a great relief to know that they're going to be having a good time even without me. :) Recommend them for baths, nails, boarding, even advice about food and skin, training, you name it. Great place. Go there.

Go to Motif grooming in South Elgin- I go there with my 2 dogs and I love how she takes care of them. I can just stop in for a nail trim, but they get baths there, and I even left them there while we were out of town once, when I couldn't find anyone else to keep them for me. They did great. And the price was really fair. I thought boarding would be way more expensive. I am so thankful that Motif is there when I need them. If my year old pup gets covered in mud, or my blind dog needs a bath, they know what my dogs need and like, and they love on them like their own, and they come home clean and wearing a new bandanna.

I have tried to take my danes to a place where a) they can play, and b) where they can be groomed with care..and this is the place. They do NOT spray water at your dogs their to prevent them from barking...they kept my 2 up front to evaluate their temperment then sent them to play in the back..which when I asked to see it was promptly shown it. Now their staff small and yes it is busy all the time, but the home feeling I get from the place and the owner is enough to keep me returning. (Now mind you this is the NEW owner, not the old one..whom I did NOT care for)..so I would suggest giving the place a try..:)

I took my dog for daycare there. On the phone she told me she needed shot records. They never even asked for them. What kind of daycare doesn"t check shot records. My dogs also never made it back to the warehouse-daycare. They were left all day up front with all the other dogs. They were all full of dog hair from the grooming area and they were all full of energy.There were two people working and the one lady was grooming. The other person was washing dogs. So who was playing with the dogs. I think that is why they were all stuffed in the front of the store. I was told that my dogs were not very friendly and that is why they had to stay up front (along with the six other dogs). They now go to a new daycare and they have said that my dogs behave very well and have had no problem. I will not return there again. Ask them to check the warehouse play area. I asked twice and they kept telling me that they were cleaning it in the middle of the day. Isn't that when you do daycare?

I have 4 great danes..and they are not easy dogs, since 3 of them are deaf and one is blind..but bringing them to Motif..under new owner Judy..is the best ever. She is definitely a pet person, you can see that..my one dane Bo thinks she is his second mom. They take the best care to the point of having to get into the bath tubs just to get my dogs in! If you want a place where your dog can run around in their huge warehouse and play all day or just to get a bath and/or trim..this is the place. Plus I hear they also cater to cats too!

I called Motif and I got a hold of Judy, I believe she's the owner. I just had some questions about the whole doggie day care since I havent ever had to send my dogs to one before, but I recently got laid off and now I'm driving a wee bit to far to come back at lunch...hello recession. ; )In my past experiences with Dog trainers, groomers and kennels..even vets, I have felt like an uneducated idiot when I leave and I always feel like my dog is looking at me with that "please do not leave me here, they really arent to gentle" look.After my conversation with Judy I know more about the different dog foods out there than my vet, she showed me some really cool pictures of some champion breeds and I found a groomer/boarder that, although I have to drive about 45 minutes to get to, I FINALLY feel like I'm actually droppin my pup off at a place thats more like a vacation than anything. I mean my dog LOVES this place, almost enough to make me a liiiittle Jealous! As you can see, I've go

I took my Havanese to this place on 6/20/09 for a cut. I told the lady there not to cut his nails. They kept my pet for 7 hrs. When we picked him up she told us that our dog bit one of the girls there. and that she had to muzzle him. Our dog has been to this groomer once before. He is so scared of them I don't know why. When we got him home he was bleeding in one of his paws. We took him back to Motif and the crazy bag lady who's in desperate need of a pedicure that runs the place, told us that she did cut his nails but, he must have hurt himself elsewhere and not at her location. At that point my dog's whole nail came right off. My wife started crying. Crazy bag lady said that the nail would grow back and she stood firm on her,"that accident didn't happen here story."

Crazy bag lady is suppose to be an animal trainer,vet tech and groomer. I thought she had compassion for animals. Honestly, she treated us like smelly poop. She has no compassion or any integrity in the way she runs her business. I love my dog to death and she couldn't take any type of responsability whatsoever for what we know happened at her shop. We didn't go there demanding a refund. We didn't want to sue her. We didn't ask her to pay the 79usd vet fee we had to pay yesterday.

She showed a lot of pride and arrogance the whole time we were there. I simply said thank you and we left.

I urge everyone out there. DO NOT FREQUENT THIS BUSINESS. She don't care about your pet. She care about gettin' paid and stayin' paid.

Did i mention the feet from hell. It would take divine intervention to make these feet look presentable.

I take my dogs to Motif to get groomed. They always come back home looking great and happy. They do such a great professional job grooming them. And they always have fun there running around with all the other dogs.

I've taken my dogs to other places before this to get groomed and was never happy with the quality of grooming.

I always know my dogs are in good hands at Motif, and they always love going there.
