Avoid this shop while Mikes in the building

THIS IS JUST PART OF THE HACK WORK MIKE WILL DO ON VEHICLES. TOLD FRANCIS ABOUT IT AND SHE DID'T EVEN CARE. The owner was given two-3 page letters about the current staff. This was in 2015 while Mike was taking over the place from WES. Both are bad for business.
There was a wheel bearing on a 1998 Ford Contour that had a right front noise and on the test drive you knew it was a wheel bearing. I put it up it on the hoist and used the stethoscope to listen at both front wheel bearings. BUT while removing the old front hub bearing, I was once again getting his help and he said let me help you press the bearing out of the hub so you don’t damage anything...I been doing this auto repair stuff for 30 years this year and have done many myself. But while he insisted on helping me get this torn apart, MIKE used a grinding tool to remove the outer bearing race from the hub and he CUT clean through the race and left a one inch long gash in the hub from his grinding tool. He should have used a bearing race remover from the press instead of damaging the hub or cut almost all the way through that race and then broke it apart with a hammer and chisel and striking the race. THE PRESS DOESN'T EVEN HAVE ANYTHING NEEDED TO PRESS EQUIPMENT PROPERLY, THEY WONT EVEN OBTAIN METAL STOCK TO USE.
Mike insisted on helping me all the way through this repair again. He installed the new bearing over the damaged hub so nobody would ever see it. But this is HACK REPAIRS and if he is seen doing this in front of me...one can only imagine the damage he has caused working on vehicles for your business. The usual process would have been to heat up the frozen race and whack it with a chisel around the edges to push it off the hub Or again-use the press.
This slice in the bearing race will cause a rust buildup and eventually over the future miles, there might be failure which could result in wheel falling off .
While we were pressing the bearing apart at the press, his socket got stuck in the inside bore of the center of the bearing and he walked away to go get some other tool to get that apart. But I put one of his extensions back into the frozen socket and pushed the socket back out the other way and it came apart again so he walked back over and started to repress the bearing. I had to walk away, I just couldn't take it anymore and left soon after. A month in this place was a scary experience.

He played video poker while I talked!

He never looked up at me from his computer poker game, and acted like he couldn't care less if he got my business. Even though I live right around the corner and the location could not be more convenient, I will be taking my cars elsewhere for oil changes.

Check engune light Issues

I took my van to wildwood automotive back in December 2012 for a diagnosis on my check engine light. I strictly told the old manager on duty the morning I went in that I wanted a phone call what it would cost to fix the issue- I left my home and mobile number and waited for a call all day- only to never receieve one.Turns out, the went ahead and fixed the issue- Apparently my distributor cap was shot. It cost me over $200 in repairs! I am greatful for the fact they located the issue and corrected it, but upset with the notion they never called me with prices and went against my wishes. Exactly 3 weeks later, my check engine light was back on and when I had called the shop, the manager was rude as can be with me on the phone, insulting me and my "old vechicle" as he called it. I would not recommend going there- customer service was shot to hell that day. I don't think the manager should be telling their customers over the phone that they're wrong and the check engine light coming back on must be something else- he didn't offer to have me bring the van in and to have relooked at for no charge. I think if he had, I would be a continued guest at their location.

I have used Wildwood Service Station for years

I am a single mom and have been screwed by mechanics for years, but every time I go to Wildwood service I am treated with kindness and respect. I am grateful to Wes for his honesty and although I have used other mechanics, I never will again. He explained exactly what was wrong with my car, listened to my concerns, asked me questions and let me be part of the process. His demeanor can seem rough, but he is great, and a very good, honest business man. What more could you ask for in a world full of cut throat mechanics who steal parts off your car and diagnose you to death. I just need to get back on the road, thank you, and no you can't have my catalytic converter. Love Wildwood service station, Love Wes.

I would never go back to Wildwood service....first of all the open at 7 but the mechanics don't start until 830 so they lead you to believe they'll get an early start on it. Secondly I brought it in for a simple brake pad job and every other shop I've ever been to gives you options for what kind of brake pads you want to go with...not here...theyl find the most expensive ones possible...$100 for a set of rear brake pads??....I googled rear brake pads for my jeep and couldn't even find them that expensive...and $124 for machining a rotor??...I think O'Reilly does it for like $30.....only good thing is that they were quick....well once they're mechanics get there
