Bad Experience

I cannot believe the good reviews...I guess all it takes is one bad manicurist...and I must have been the "lucky one" to have gotten that one bad person...When I went there on a weekday in June, the salon was busy...so I thought that would be a good sign. I had been to another Roseville nail salon (Tiffany's -near Snelling and Larpenteur) and had a bad experience where my foot had been sliced (drew blood) during a pedicure, as my heel was being filed. The "practitioner" there spoke little English, but looked up and asked, "Hurt?" Yeah, right it hurt...it was bleeding ...Needless to say, I never went back. So, I saw this salon's good reviews and decided to try it.. This time, during the manicure, one of my cuticles was cut by the manicurist. As a result, I ended up with paronychia -which is a nail abscess- and very painful. I had to go to urgent care to get it lanced with a needle (to expel the pus) and get an antibiotic. Oh, but the rest of the story is that while I was still at Supernails salon, having my "experience" there I looked up and saw one of the employees who had just finished another client walk by..... Oooh...I recognized her...good grief...it was the "foot slicer" (the person I'd had at Tiffany Nail Salon)! Once I saw her, and now with my latest experence with a different technician, I am certainly never going back to Supernails again either. If I had seen her before I started the appointment with this new person, I would have walked back out the door. The "slicer" may have improved by now (it has been a year since she sliced me at Tiffany), but I am not going to find out...and it seems Supernails Spa must not screen their employees for proper skill or training either...and now has two horrible technicians (maybe more). Actually, I should have realized there was a problem when the water for the pedicure was way too hot- burning hot-...A decent skilled technician would have known that...altho she did cool it down after she asked me to stick my foot in to burn..I mean..test it...but....hindsight is always 20-20.Oh- and my polished nails were chipping only two days after my "Super" Nails experience....I won't be back! They need to change their name to "Shoddynails Spa". Oh, and I forgot to say, my technician pestered me with up-selling...which I did for one item...not worth it at all...And "pester" is the right word to describe her because if I said no, she would later ask "you sure?"Anyway, if you did happen to be one of the lucky ones who had a decent experience (who might give a 4 or 5 star rating)...stay with that techician you had...don't take any chances..you may get one of the two I had and live to regret it.My rating would be a zero or negative if that was possible...it doesn't deserve a even a one star.
