Provided by YPmobileMy husband and I went here on a Thursday afternoon around 4 pm. The place was half full. After standing and waiting for ten minutes this guy said "you can just sit here" like we were wasting his time. We then waited for 40 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. Two tables of black people came in behind us and they were acknowledged and orders were taken before us. Ironically the waitresses were both black and seemed to only care to help black tables and ignore us. We didnt even get to try the exceptional malts and shakes due to the poor service. For somewhere so iconic you'd think they could get a better staff than obese racists who work there. Considering the neighborhood I guess it's not surprising.

Provided by YPmobileI think they use at least a half pound of bacon in their BLT's. All kinds of ice cream treats. Visiting St. Louis? This is a must see. Lines are usually out the door. This is not a fast food place. Patience is required. They also make candy and it's a neat experience to visit around holidays.

Provided by YP.comI love their BLT's and shakes, and its like going back in time. Wonderful, busy atmosphere. You must try it!
AWESOME!!! If you are looking for an old time soda fountain this is it. Looks like you stepped back in time to the 1950's. Great food and ice cream. Probably the best place to go on a first date.

the chocolate shakes are wonderful. My mom grew up in this neighborhood and said her favorite time to go was at Easter to get a big, solid chocolate bunny.
If you haven't been to Crown's you are missing an experience like no other. I grew up as a little girl eating hot fudge sundaes at this place. My father had a store 2 blocks away. My day also used to bring home his homemade candy. The owner George (now run by his sons) used to hand roll turtle clusters and the chocolate covered peanuts and he made the chocolate in his grandfathers copper pots. They also have solid chocolate bunnies at Easter too!!!. This is like walking into a 1950's diner. Lots of Cocacola memorabilia around. You can have pretty decent lunch and then dessert...

Provided by YP.comThe best chocolate banana milkshake. Ice cream is the best and made right there. Place is small fills up fast. Get there early for lunch.

Provided by YP.comThe food is good but when you go to Crown Candy Kitchen you have to get the Chocolate Malt. You get a huge mixer cup full of mixed up goodness. The decor is old time soda fountain and fun but also very cramped. So, be prepared to wait a little while to get a table. It is a great experience for young and old.
