      In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am - we've got something for everyone.       Black Bear diner has average to good food but thier pancakes are to die for. The wait staff is very friendly and we love the decor. All in all it is one of our families favorite places to go for comfort food

      One of our favorite restaurants that serves up delicious homemade-style dishes in ridiculous portions. One of our favorite “comfort food” restaurants. We recommend the Tri Tip Dip, Broiled Chicken and Avocado Club, B.L.A.S.T., Patty Melt, Stuffed Breasts of Chicken, and Mikey’s Chicken Pot Pie.. We really enjoyed celebrating our Rehearsal Dinner here. The folks at Black Bear really make you feel at home. Plus the food is delicious.
