The North Chicago VA Medical Center, also known as VAMC, offers a range of health and nursing care services. The center has been serving veterans for more than 80 years. It serves the residents of northeastern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin. The center offers a variety of treatment and diagnostic services in the areas of cardiology, pulmonary and neurology. The North Chicago VA Medical Center also offers mental health, long-term and acute care services. In addition, it treats individuals with alcohol and drug addictions. The center accepts donations from individuals and institutions. The North Chicago VA Medical Center is operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
