Since its inception, over half a century ago, Coit has grown into one of the largest specialty cleaning companies in the world. In 1950, Lou Kearn founded the company as a dry cleaner, with the then unique specialty of drapery cleaning. His shop flourished, and he developed several patents in the area of drapery cleaning. By the 1970s expansion into other major service areas, such as carpet cleaning and heating, ventilation and air conditioner cleaning, has shaped the company into its form of a full-service provider. The company s services include carpet cleaning, drapery cleaning, emergency services and restoration, upholstery, air duct cleaning, area rug cleaning, deodorizer, tile and grout cleaning, hardwood floor refinishing and CoitGard stain resistant protective coating. Coit Services has a location in Modesto, Calif.
