General Info

Mr Transmission Jackson, MS specializes in the repair and installation of transmission systems and drive train components. Our center prides itself on being able to offer a nationwide warranty which is honored by other Mr. Transmission, Dr Nick's and MultiState Transmission locations. Top quality workmanship, fair prices, and friendly professional customer service. Computer Diagnostics: Today's vehicles are primarily computer controlled and utilize sophisticated technology to operate properly. The use of this technology plays a significant part in the diagnosis of your vehicle's performance. When your vehicle is illuminating the "Check Engine" light or not running properly, oftentimes computer diagnostics are needed to determine what part is malfunctioning. When a warning light is illuminated this means the onboard computer system in your vehicle has detected a problem or service need with one or more of the many different systems it monitors and controls, such as your engine or transmission. Therefore, we recommend our Computer Diagnostic Service to provide you with an accurate assessment of your vehicle's condition. Our Computer Diagnostics Service utilizes state-of-the art diagnostic equipment, which is connected to your vehicle to view any computer trouble codes. Our trained technicians utilize the same procedures the dealerships perform by retrieving this information directly from the vehicle's data stream to accurately pinpoint your system's failure or service needs. Once the data is retrieved from the trouble code our technicians can provide a service or repair recommendation to return your vehicle to its Road Ready condition.

Truly professionals. They were up front & honest when I called and once I arrived, extended every possible courtesy to make sure I understood what was wrong with my car, what would be needed to fix it, how long it would take and exactly how much. When I left my car with them to be repaired, I couldn't help but let my previous "garage" experiences get the better of me but when I left WITH my repaired car, I left with an absolute knowledge of everything that was done to make sure my car was fixed correctly and I left with absolutely no worries. Since having my car repaired almost 6 months ago, I cannot think of anything negative to say about my car's performance. It runs perfectly terrific. I have returned a couple of times but only for their opinions on other concerns with my car. I trust them, which is something I have never said before toward any other automotive place -- whether repairs, sales or anything else. I would & will recommend to anyone needing a car repair.

Today's transmissions are much more complicated than they were in the past. There are hundreds of individual components inside transmissions. In order to properly repair your vehicle's transmission, these components must be dismantled, cleaned and inspected for wear to provide you with an accurate assessment of your transmission's tolerance levels. All worn and/or damaged parts are either repaired or replaced. After the parts are thoroughly inspected and repaired, they are reassembled, adjusted and tested for proper operation. Some transmission repairs require only an adjustment that can be made without removing the entire transmission. Newer model cars that are computer controlled can sometimes have faulty sensors or bad connections. Once the source of the problem part is identified it can be replaced or repaired.Older automobiles that are experiencing transmission problems may require adjustments to parts such as bands or throttle cables.Repairs can also include a Reseal. If your vehicle is leaving spots on your driveway you may be leaking transmission fluid in which case a reseal job is needed. A technician will perform a lift inspection to determine where the leak is occurring and then perform the reseal job.FAQ'sQ: HOW MUCH WILL A TRANSMISSION REPAIR COST? Repair costs depend on first what is wrong with the transmission and second what parts may be required to correct the problem. Overall 60% of all repairs are minor ones that do not require a complete overhaul of the transmission.
