On July 2nd, 2014 around 1:15pm I trapped and brought in a feral cat to the Tri City Animal Shelter in Fremont. The moment I brought into the office front desk I was greet by Animal Control Officer M. Clark. Officer Clark immediately questioned me as to why I put the cat inside a cardboard box and that my method was inhumane. He also implied that I was suffocating the cat from heat exhaustion and in his words, needed to educate me with his impolite attitude and raising his tone of voice.

First of all, this cat counts as number 8 total to date of the cat that I have brought in the past two months. Second, I was told by another Officer that by putting the feral cat inside the cardboard box helps to keep the cat calm and also for my own protection without coming in contact with the cat. With that being stated, I have never had any problem with bringing feral cats to Tri City Animal Shelter in Fremont until today. Officer Clark became agitated he escorted me outside the office and took my cage outside told me to leave and that he would not take the cat into the shelter.

I felt disrespected by Officer M. Clark with his impolite attitude towards me and implied that I was intentionally hurting this cat. I felt that I was helping the cat by driving 20 minutes just to drop off the cat at the shelter and the potentially for adoption.

I felt uncomfortable as a person being accused of being inhumane. The whole issue we are dealing here is Officer Clark s unprofessional attitude and his false accusation toward me as being cruel towards the animal.

What Officer Clark failed to understand is that the “real” animal cruelty happens are the animals that will NEVER reach to the animal shelter. So to accuse me acting out as inhumane not only cause emotional pain and at the same time to be escorted outside of the office telling me to leave with cat was completely unacceptable. If you don’t appreciate the fact people made the effort bringing the cat to your shelter then don’t expect people to rescue anymore cats in the future.

Perhaps Officer M.Clark has good intentions, but his attitude towards me as a customer as well as a human being is totally unprofessional.

If Officer Clark felt the need to address me or in his word “educate me”, do so in a professional manner. There are ways to educate people without the need to show attitude and accusation.

i called after finding a lost hurt dog and the lady was not helpful and not informative!!! she seemed like she didn't give a hoot about the animal i was trying to save!!! very dissapointed and i hope to never experience that ever again!!!
