Use both the drycleaners and laundromat. Plenty of washers and dryers available and clean atmosphere. Love the same day service on my cleaning and the customer service is always great.

This place was recommended by a wedding magazine for dry cleaning wedding gowns. I brought my vintage gown to them, and I was in tears when I went to pick it up. It looked worse than when I first brought it in. There was a rip in the side, the lace was tattered, and the overskirt had wrinkles pressed into it. After a lot of back-and-forth, the manager did get the rip repaired professionally, trimmed the loose strings off the lace, and re-steamed the dress. She tried to be helpful. But the original stain I brought it in for was still there. They charged me full price. I feel that they were not honest with me about the risks and their abilities when I dropped off the dress. Fortunately, I found a talented tailor who made a sash to cover the lace problem and an applique over the stain. Perhaps White Star does alright with brand-new wedding dresses, but I'd hate for another bride to have to go through the frustration I did.

This is a dirty laundry and the machines are constantly out of order. There is no one to wipe the tops and edges of the machines from dirt,lint,and detergent spills. One machine I used wouldn't drain the wash water out and I had to ask a worker on the dry cleaning side of the business to get them out for me. She fished them out and put them in a plastic bag and I brought them home and rinsed them in the sink. She did give me my money back. I was afraid to try to finish them in that laundry because the other machines were filthy or in use. I will not go back to White Star on Ninth St in Durham. I am thankful to the young worker who helped me. Thank you.
