What a comically awful experience. The "manager" at the front desk seemed pleasant enough at first - we left the car with them for a few hours to do a diagnostic. When we returned to get the results, they confirmed what we had already believed - the trans was slipping on 3rd gear. Our previous mechanic who had recently been in an accident and thus unable to complete the work had told us this - and already purchased the trans to replace it. When we told the manager we already had a trans, it was like a switch flipped in his brain and he became a completely different person. He was suddenly rude, hostile, and condescending - mocking the dealer we bought it from and our intelligence, completely without provocation. His attitude continued as I asked for the keys, while he ranted almost incoherently about nothing (literally - he could barely make a sentence). It was nearly surreal how angry he got over nothing but owning my own part.
