Established in 1952, The Hitching Post is a full services restaurant that offers a variety of dining options. The restaurant serves chicken, mushrooms, beef, seafood, shrimp and french fries. It is available on a rental basis for a variety of formal and informal events, such as rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, wedding receptions and anniversaries. The restaurant provides gift certificates of several denominations. The Hitching Post serves a range of wines, including pinot noir, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. The Hitching Post also operates a gift shop and is located in Casmalia, Calif. The restaurant additionally provides coffee, tea, ice cream and salads.

Excellent smoky flavor on everything they make.. Well almost everything. Unique atmosphere tucked away in the middle of nowhere. A bit pricy, but worth the drive.
Highly "touted," but in my opinion, undeservedly so. The food is good, but you don't get a lot of it for the money paid. Service good, no question. Noise level poor, beyond question. Quite noisy! Sorry Hitching Post, but this is my honest and fair evaluation.

A local favorite, but known throughout Central California, with some national notoriety. They cook beef steaks (many varieties) to perfection. Just try their sirloin... it's as good as many other places filet mignon.
