I was driving down the frontage road with a serious flat tire. No gas station insight and It was way too hot for me to get out and change the tire. Luckily I saw Kwik Kar Lube & Tune and pulled in. I didn't have my wallet on me but I was desperate to get home so I could get ready for work. An Employee by the name of Cliff approaches me and I explain the situation. No question asked, he told me to go ahead and pull in and he'd put air in my tire for me. Turned out the tire was severely damaged and I needed to put in the spare. Cliff was kind enough to change out my bad tire and put on the spare for me in no time at all. When I asked how much I owed, he said it cost nothing and I was on my way. The whole thing probably took about 5 minutes. That's the kind of service you don't see too often these days. Because of Cliff, Kwik Kar Lube & Tune has won my business from now on.

When my daughter's car had issues, I told her to take it to the Kwik Kar by her (Research Blvd). She felt that they were condescending towards. I called them and spoke to Chad who told me that his mechanic had performed a diagnostic on the car and that it needed a new water pump. He said they didn't have the tools to make this repair and had called all of the shops around them and nobody else did either. He said that it would take 2 wks for the tools to arrive from his supplier. I asked him how much the diagnostic would cost and he said $175 which included some coolant. I called Austin Automotive Specialists (1/2 a mile away) and spoke to Mike and he had the tools and would take the car and wouldn't charge me for a diagnostic.

I would not take my car back to this Kwik Kar center. They lost my business. Chad should have simply told me that they couldn't repair the car and to charge that much for someone to look at the vehicle is really unbelievable.

We have been going to Kwik Kar on Research and Balcones for many years and I can recommend them with no reservations what-so-ever! We have mostly had new vehicles but with 2 sons have also had a few used mustangs. I am a female so even just getting oil changes has always been like going to the dentist; what are they going to find wrong and how much is it going to cost!

In the past I always got at least 2 other competitors prices and I always found Kwik Kar to be comparable, so much so that I don't price check anymore.

Everyone there is professional, easy to work with and just down right nice.

I highly recommend this business.

What a lucky owner the kwik kar oil & lube shop at 183 and balcones woods is! The staff is conscientious, considerate, attentive and good ambassadors for kwik kar. Over the years we have been going to this shop with all our cars. The staff remembers our names, which is a wonderful personal touch. They keep us up to date with what is recommended by the manufacturer and if we don’t want or can’t afford the service, they never get pushy, rather just document the recommendation on the invoice and that’s it. This a great neighborhood shop.

Too often I read only negative comments on these sites. Well, I have to tell you that I have received service at the kwik kar on balcones woods six times and have been very pleased with the outcome. More specifically I have been impressed with stephens professionalism, informative nature and friendly service. He provides me with recommendations that are easy for me (mechanically illiterate)to understand. Never once have I felt like he is talking down to me or like I shouldnt trust his information. I have experienced this before at other car repair locations and Stephens assistance is a refreshing change. My RAV 4 is doing great and running smooth!

I have been going to kwik kar on balcones woods for 8 years and want anyone interested to know their staff and services are the best. It is probably hard to find good help in that industry, however I continue to be greeted by a very professional staff. I have had no issue with their service. I will continue to have our four vehicles serviced by their professional staff.

I just read the review before mine and it astounds me when people think they are entitled. ALL human life is valuable! Even pregnant women have to suffer inconveniences in life. I was also pregnant twice and didn't ask or expect special treatment. The guy was hurt and you were annoyed because your boo bear had to get a ride. That's life my dear.



As for the guys at Kwik Lube, I've taken my car there for 7years and it's always run smoothly. They never try to gouge me with additional services. If some maintenance is legitimately due, they give me a discount. Once I had a light come on my panel. They ran a free diagnostic and found out it was something simple (a cap was loose). They didn't charge me. The last time I was in, I left a bag with expensive cell phone equipment in it. They called and let me know they had it. I was so grateful for their honesty. I have also never had to wait more than half an hour since I've been going there.
