I "happened" upon this restaurant quite by accident but am I glad I did! I'm originally from San Francisco and grew up a block away from China Town. Since moving to Nebraska I've found it very difficult to find ANY authentic Chinese food restaurants. Most of the Chinese restaurants here the food is bland, mushy, the recipes are compromised (in order to appeal to a more "steak and potato" palate I would guess) and many time honored dishes are not even on the menu! NOT SO MR. HUI'S! I was driving home last week and happened to see Mr. Hui's sitting back a bit in the small shopping center on the corner of 33rd and Cornhusker. I thought I'd just check out their menu (just in CASE they had something that resembled real Chinese food) and much to my surprise I saw TAIWANESE/CHINESE FOOD listed! For a moment I could not believe my eyes! I did a double take and then thought, "Could it BE??!?!" I ran in, sat down and ordered...When the food arrived it was as if a piece of Chinatown had come to great me! The food is FABULOUS! The service is great as well! If you've not eaten Taiwanese before, ask your server for a suggestion. They're eager to help and make your dining experience a memorable and happy one. I knew I was in for a treat when one of the waiters asked me if this was my first time at Mr. Hui's and when I replied, "Yes it is," he got a huge, proud smile on his face and said, "You will love the food here!" He was right! I'll be back alright! As a matter of fact, I've already been back twice since finding the place a week ago! If you want authentic Chinese food, GO TO MR. HUI'S!
