Jesse Brown VA Medical Center is a 180-plus-bed acute care facility. The center also operates community-based outpatient clinics. Jesse Brown VA Medical Center serves approximately 62,000 veterans who reside in the city of Chicago and Cook County in Illinois and northwestern Indiana. The center has a staff of more than 1,800 employees, including over 180 physicians and nearly 590 nurses. Jesse Brown VA Medical Center is affiliated with the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University and the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical School. The center features a cytology room, chapel, and inpatient dialysis and outpatient surgical centers. It is accredited by The Joint Commission, College of American Pathologists and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
